"AS9120 Quality Management System -- Requirements for Aerospace, Aerospace and Defense Distributors" is an aerospace standard based on AS9100, which adds specific requirements related to distributors in the aerospace industry for warehousing or resale and distribution. The AS9120 standard is published by SAE International.
This standard requires distribution value chains, traceability, control and access to records. AS9120 is intended for resale, distribution and warehousing of aircraft and other aerospace components by organizations. The standard does not apply to resellers who make changes to a customer's product that add value to the product or to organizations that rework or repair the product. If the work carried out by the organization is likely or determined to affect product characteristics or compliance, the organization should choose AS9100 or other general quality management system certification. In addition, specific requirements related to dealers in the aerospace industry for warehousing or resale and distribution have been added. The AS9120 standard is published by SAE International.
