What is FSSC 22000?
FSSC 22000, developed by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification (FSSC) in the Netherlands, is an ISO standard based management system Certification scheme for auditing and certifying Food Safety throughout the supply chain. As one of the most comprehensive food safety management system certification programs in the world, FSSC 22000 has been fully recognized by GFSI.
In recent years, FSSC 22000 certification has won the favor of a number of international food manufacturing giants, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Danone, Cargill and other well-known food manufacturers require their companies to obtain FSSC 22000 certification, but also through THE FSSC 22000 certification as a supplier access system requirements. More and more international retail giants, for example, metro, Wal-Mart and other global supermarket chains have or gradually adopted FSSC22000 as a requirement in the supplier access system.
Two. Enterprises for FSSC 22000 system certification benefits
1) Prevent harm, convey trust and enhance consumer confidence;
2) Demonstrate adherence to high international food safety standards, and improve the organization's international image and credibility;
3) Meet the supplier access requirements of large supermarkets and increase market opportunities. For example, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Mondelez, Nestle, Unilever, Carrefour, Wal-Mart, etc., have adopted it as a standard in the supplier access system or gradually;
4) Reduce the on-site evaluation times of qualified suppliers of large supermarkets. For example, Wal-Mart for FSSC22000 certification suppliers do not carry out on-site audit evaluation or reduce the number of on-site audit;
5) In the international market sales and export food record is accepted, convenient for commercial promotion. FSSC22000 has been included in the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority's safety assurance scheme, and the frequency of NVWA adoption or supervision has been reduced.
Iii. What are the requirements for enterprises to apply for FSSC 22000?
1) Obtaining the legal person status (or part thereof) registered by the state market administration department or relevant institutions;
2) It has obtained the administrative license stipulated by relevant laws and regulations (where applicable);
3) The products produced and processed or the services provided comply with the requirements of relevant laws, regulations, safety and health standards and relevant specifications;
4) According to the requirements of the certification basis, the establishment and implementation of the documented FSSC22000 system, the system should be effective operation for more than 3 months;
5) within one year, not due to food safety and health accidents, violation of the relevant national food safety management regulations or false report, conceal the information required to obtain, certificate, and the certification body revoked the certification certificate;
6) Meet the relevant requirements of FSSC22000 Foundation;
7) Other requirements as applicable.
