In 1993, the first FSC forest management certificate (Mexico) was issued, and the first production and marketing supervision chain certificate (USA).
In February 1996, the FSC was registered as a legal entity in Mexico. For the first time, four forest management certificates have been signed. The first certification and labeling product - wood shoveling (sold in the UK). The first FSC working group (UK) is accredited by the FSC board of directors. The FSC member approved the standard 10 for human forests.
In January 2003, the FSC secretariat moved to the FSC international center in Bonn, Germany, with 25 employees.
Forest stewardship council (FSC) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization, it brings people together, to promote responsible forest management in the world, and for the forestry problems caused by improper operation and seek solutions. It provides standards formulation, trademark assurance, recognition services and market access for companies and organizations interested in responsible forests.

Over the past 13 years, more than 100 million hectares of forest in 81 countries have been certified by FSC standards, and thousands of products are made by FSC certified wood and the FSC trademark.
FSC is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organizations, its mission is through the formulation has been widely recognized forest management principles and standards, promote environmentally responsible worldwide, is good for society and economically viable forest management.
